BACKGROUND TO CRESCENT GARDENS


Crescent Gardens was founded on the site of the 1871 Victoria baths subsequently converted to The Municipal Offices in 1931. It is situated in the Montpellier Spa Quarter of Harrogate, sitting between the floral Valley Gardens and the Royal Hall. In March 2017, ATP Crescent Gardens Ltd (wholly owned subsidiary of Adam Thorpe Property Group PLC) conditionally acquired the site from Harrogate Borough Council.

CONSTRUCTION & SPECIFICATION

The construction of Crescent Gardens will be a two phase process; shell and core followed separately by internal fit out.

Concrete shell to be competed Q3 2021

Internal fit out to be completed Q4 2022

All finishing details are to be agreed with clients through the design phase

Communal areas to feature marble floors inlayed with brass, bespoke customised detailing and feature lighting

INTERIOR DESIGN & ATELIER

The Crescent Gardens Design Studio ‘The Atelier’, will open Q1 2020 on site. It will be an interactive space allowing clients to design all aspects of their residence and enjoy the build progress

All interiors will be designed by the ATPG in-house design team in co-ordination with each client

Full turnkey solution to all residences including; joinery and cabinetry, wallpaper, fabrics, curtains and carpets, flooring, wall designs and colour pallets, garage design, kitchens, bathrooms, hardware, private exterior space design, lighting and lighting design

All furniture, soft furnishings, artwork and lifestyle accessories will also be advised, designed and selected by ATPG unless specifically stated otherwise

Clients may be involved in as much or little as they wish during the design stages of their project

Each residence will be completely tailored to the individual clients’ specification. Further, all parties involved in the Crescent Gardens scheme are contracted within an NDA to protect clients confidentiality, residences specifications and associated discussions

 

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

The scheme is designed to compliment the grandeur of the original building façade with a full new build to the rear, essential for providing all of the modern amenities for an effortless living experience

The design has been led by the requirement for large lateral spaces naturally lit with dual aspect

Each residence benefits from parkland views to the front and the townscape vista to the rear

Each penthouse has full panoramic views of the town with complete privacy

All residences can be accessed via the main front entrance, private residents’ entrances from Crescent Gardens, the lower ground floor

 

SUSTAINABILITY

ATPG are exploring the possibility of a zero carbon footprint for the construction of Crescent Gardens

A living roof and living walls will be used wherever possible to aid the natural environment

On site waste management throughout construction to minimise environmental disruption

Sustainable heating and cooling systems

 

COMMUNITY

Consultation throughout the design process with historians, special interest groups, council members and the public to ensure a desirable and deliverable scheme.

A dedication to ensure the longevity and enhancement of the public realm within the area has led ATPG to covenant that the gardens in front of the building be pubic open space in perpetuity
